Xbox One Launch Date Revealed

November 22, 2005 brought the Xbox 360 into the gaming world. Banking on this being their lucky day, Microsoft will release the Xbox One November 22, 2013 in 13 different markets (Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK and the US). Unfortunately for everyone else, they will have to wait until sometime in 2014.

According to Xbox360achievements.org, Yusuf Mehdi, VP of Marketing for Microsoft, also confirmed there will be a 10% increase in CPU performance. He was quoted as saying,”… in the spirit of continuing to bring new value and excitement to Xbox, I am also please to confirm that the development team has increased the CPU from 1.6GHZ to 1.75GHZ, roughly a 10% increase in CPU performance. This is on top of the 6% increase we previously announced for the GPU performance. What does this mean to you the gamer? It means that the Xbox One will have that much more power for developers to make their games and entertainment really shine.”

The game the Ravens turned the corner down Championship boulevard

screen-shot-2013-08-27-at-11-05-10-am

So here we are.  Crisp cool air, with the smell of fall in the air, as well as football.  It’s been a long time since we have been privileged to see a battle on  the gridiron, but wait “never more”!  We have FINALLY reach the season, and what a thriller the NFL has been so kind to bless us with.  The Rematch between the Ravens and the Broncos from last year’s playoffs.

The 2012 Baltimore Ravens lost 4 of their last 5 regular season games, made the playoffs with a 10-6 record,  and defeated the Indianapolis Colts in the first round.  A game that no one had thought the Ravens would win.  Then they went on to face the Denver Broncos in round 2.  Now everyone thought for sure this was to be the Ravens demise, as the heavily favored Peyton Manning and Bronco’s hosted the Ravens.  This is a game that could not be settled in 4 quarters, or over time, but took a second over time (first time in 9 years) for the Ravens to pull out the victory over the Broncos, who were 13-3 in the regular season and won 10 out of 10 coming into the playoffs.

Joe Flacco threw 331 yards, 3 TD’s, and zero interceptions, including the last minute pass in regulation to Jacoby Jones on blown coverage by Rahim Moore to tie it up and send it to OT, and Ray Rice piled up 131 yards on 30 carries and 1 TD.  Peyton Manning Matched the 3 TD’s of Flacco, but along with 2 interceptions, including 1 late in the first OT.

The Ravens took that momentum and confidence on to New England, and won that close game to face the Niners in the Superbowl, and win their 2nd franchise Championship.

That was then.  This is now.  Ravens had a HUGE turnaround in personnel, losing greats such as Ray Lewis, Anquan Boldin,  and Ed Reed.  While the Broncos upgraded with the addition of Wes Welker, giving what I feel will be the edge for the Broncos in the season opener, with the Broncos victorious,  31 to 13.

PS4 Virtual Reality Headset to be Showcased at TGS

It is generally accepted the next major evolution of gaming is virtual reality (i.e. Gamer but without the whole criminal avatar situation). Unfortunately, when some veteran gamers hear the word “virtual” they may have horrid memories of the Nintendo Virtual Boy rush to mind. I apologize for even reminding you of the horrible invention. Sony has plans to bring us the future in 2013 with a custom built PS4 VR headset, which will be shown at TGS (Tokyo Game Show).

According to Computerandvideogames.com (CVG), Sony originally planned on revealing the headset at Gamescom (8/21-8/25), but plans fell through at the last minute. The time seems right heading into TGS 2013 (9/18-9/22) and we will be able to hear more concrete details about just how the headset will be utilized and marketed.

For those that do not know, there is another VR headset hitting the market as well and it has quite a bit of industry support. The Oculus Rift will be in direct competition with Sony’s headset. Oddly enough, there were/are rumors that there was to be a merger of technology at one point, so only the future will truly tell where the majority of the market share will go at the end of the day.

Myth – A manly man is bigger and stronger erections needed for performance in the bed. viagra online http://secretworldchronicle.com/about/author-cody-martin/ Many secretworldchronicle.com cheap viagra people fear disclosure of their beliefs as it may result in losing friendships and jobs. Moreover, for men with worries in their erections, lowest priced tadalafil can help them in any kind of way. These pills contain natural ingredients which do not pose any side effect and work to increase the blood circulation to the genitals and cheap generic levitra it is alleged to work very quickly.

For those worried this addition will increase the price of the system, fear not. Like the PlayStation Eye, the VR headset will be sold separately to keep the cost of the system as low as possible.

Also, R&D has already begun to develop titles that will utilize the new technology as soon as possible. CVG received word that Evolution Studios is working to create a revolutionary cockpit view using the headset. To that end, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, suggested that further R&D was underway: “Y’know, we’re Sony, so we have lots of different things and different ideas in R&D.” He went on to say, “When it comes to researching things, we are doing a lot of things that we can’t talk about.”

As a cynic, I find it difficult to believe this is going to be the game changer it has the potential to be. Consumers these days are very weary of adopting new technology and if early sales numbers do not ring to developers, we may see this fall to the wayside quickly. The PlayStation Eye had grand potential, but a lack of support from third party developers and little to no promotion led to less than stellar sales. Assuming Drive Club can utilize this tech effectively, it would definitely be a positive step towards this being more than just a gimmick, but only time will tell.

Chemical Warfare

Jay PatelWarfare has experienced much innovation from conventional weapons like blades and guns to nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare.  I have played different first person shooters like Call of Duty and Halo, but I wasn’t too familiar with the other styles of warfare.  With the chemical attacks happening in Syria I was curious as to how chemical warfare actually affects humans.  I was surprised to find that these popular video games that we all love to play use some non-conventional weaponry even in an elementary fashion.

The different classes of chemical agents include nerve (attack and block certain nervous functions), blood (attack blood cells, cause them to burst or prevent them from using oxygen), blister (blisters and burns on the skin), pulmonary (impair and eventually stop breathing), lachrymatory (severe eye stinging and temporary blindness).  These agents can be lethal and non-lethal.  Non-lethal is normally used for controlling crowds or riots.  They disable people cause temporary blindness and dizziness.  Tear gas and nova gas are example of non lethal but only when used in small doses.  Its atrocious to see how these chemicals, found in toilet cleaners, cigarettes, and paint thinner, can be weaponized to destroy societies around the world.

The lethal chemicals used in the recent attacks in Syria involved nerve gas.  Its mechanism involves blocking enzymes critical to specific biochemical reactions.  For example nerves that control our muscles and our breathing would fire irregularly and cause muscle spasms and convolution, while simultaneously slowing down breathing.   Different names of the chemical agents used are sarin gas, chlorine, mustard gas and hydrogen cyanide.  The most important thing to note is that the dose of the chemical determines how lethal it is.  For example, chlorine in small quantities is used to clean water in swimming pools but in high doses it causes severe irritation in the nose, throat, and lungs.

You have to completely say no to heavy fatty diet Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol Follow nutritious and well-balanced diet Drink plenty of water each day. icks.org discount tadalafil If somehow you are able to get medical help after being exposed, there is a high probability of sustaining some sort of nerve or heart damage.  Atropine is the commonly used antidote against the chemical agents.  It works by desensitizing the receptors in your brain so that the irregularity in the nerves is not communicated throughout the body.  Also the secretions from the nasal cavity and the tear-ducts cease and the heart rate starts increasing.  Even though the antidote could save people, hospitals don’t have enough to treat everyone after an attack.  The hospitals in Syria only had a limited supply of atropine.

Something interesting to note about the chemicals used in the attacks is that this is not the first time that we have seen these agents used.  They have been used in Vietnam, Japan, the Middle East, and of course Nazi Germany, but the were never utilized to attack another country in the same manner as in Syria.  These weapons were mainly targeted at specific groups of people to control anarchy in different areas.  How far countries will go with chemical warfare?  There’s a reason that no country has attacked with nuclear weapons after the US dropped the atomic bomb on Japan.  Now that countries have seen the consequences of a chemical attack first hand hopefully they are smart about preventing warfare instead of developing more ways to kill.  A reported 355 people died in the chemical attack.
