Week 3 Recap: Colts @ 49ers – The NFC champions are in the spot light

The 49ers 1st 3 games were on national television to start off the season. They won their season opener but was held to single digit points against Seattle last week. It was the same story when Andrew Luck returned to northern California beating the 49ers 27-7. The Colts running game should be really interesting with the newly acquired Trent Richardson who had 13 carries, for 35 yards, and a touchdown. Ahmad Bradshaw had a touchdown himself of 19 carries for 95 yards. Andrew Luck himself had a rushing touchdown from 6 yards out. That was the only touchdown he had as Luck completed 18 of his 27 throws for 164 yards.

As for Luck’s counter part Colin Kaepernick, he had thrown the ball 27 times as well. He only completed 13 of these passes for 150 yards with an interception and a fumble. Plus Kaepernick was sacked 3 times in the game. The running Quarterback ran the ball 7 times for 20 yards. Frank Gore’s 11 rushes for 82 yards really wasn’t a help either as the 49ers punted the ball 7 times. As the club lost the game, defensively, San Fran lost Patrick Willis to an injured groin. The linebacker did not return to the game.
