Week 3 Recap: Giants @ Panthers – Its not looking good for the G-Men

This was Tom Coughlins’s 1st game after the death of his brother. I would like to express my condolences to the Coughlin family. The Giants performance on the field was no better at all. The last time the Giants was (0-2), they went on to win the Super Bowl in 2007. Now New York was trying to avoid there 1st (0-3) start since 1996. 7th Heaven was a popular show back then. Not only are the Giants now (0-3) to start the season, there 38-0 lost to the Carolina Panthers who are (1-2) is there worst shutout lost in 40 years. Who is the blame? Eli or the offensive  line? Eli suffered 7 interceptions and 4 sacks in the last two games. In the Carolina game, Eli was sacked 7 times (4 times in the 1st quarter) with 7 more interceptions . As for the stat line of Eli: 12-23 in passing attempts, 119 yards passing, and an interception.

As for the good news, Cam Newton’s stat line was a bit better. He went 15-27 on completions, 223 yards passing, 3 touchdown passes and an interception. Plus he had a 3 yard touchdown run. Brandon LaFell caught 2 of Newton’s 3 touchdown passes. That was on 3 receptions for 53 yards receiving.
